Resident of S.E.QLD, Australia, Paul Abad has been active as a dj, promoter and producer for over 10 years. In that time his sets have explored a wide range of genres and movements in the electronic music spectrum. These days it’s the many flavours of techno grooves at the heart of Paul’s musical activities – ranging from progressive techno, harder tribal grooves, k-haus, dub-tech, voodoo tech-house and more. Ableton is the format to put it all together – multiple tracks, loops, fx, controllers .. ensuring a multi-layered, seamless and sculptural approach to mixing … Flow, groove, space and progression are key themes in Paul’s sets, but of primary importance is the mix – recombining and layering, and responding to an audience.
As a leading exponent of these sounds within Australia, Paul has graced the main stage of most Australian outdoor electronic music festivals – Rainbow Serpent, Cairns Winter Solstice, Splendour in the Grass, Maitreya, Earth Frequency, Exodus, Regrowth, Somatica, Earthcore, Secret Sessions, Quantum Relic etc .. and played to audiences in all corners of the east coast of aus.
Over the years Paul has been chosen to support acts such as Future Sound of London/Amorphous Androgynous, Tipper, Chris Liebing, Dj Krush, Monolake, Maetrik, Richard Devine, Adam Beyer, Deadbeat, Audio Injection, Jeremy Caulfield, Mark Henning, Phoenecia, Bernd Friedman, Antix, Perfect Stranger, Tegma, Phoney Orphants, Luna Spice, Bufo, Krumeler, Kazu Kimura, Thomas Brinkman, FreQ, Aes Dana and more.
Scott’s mission since first stepping up to the decks nine years ago has always been to deliver quality music to the masses, and his versatility is the most valuable weapon in his arsenal. In the past he pushed his passion for progressive and tribal rhythms, and tech-funk flavoured breaks, and is now focussing his passion for deep house, tech-house, and the more melodic strains of minimal. That’s not to say he can’t still smash out a peak time set of main room tech though. Scott’s ability to blend such diverse elements together ensures that every set is a smooth ride no matter how wide the musical spectrum.
When a world of bass, energetic sounds and spiritual rhythms collide, you form the mind-blowing sound of ‘Digital Divide’. Peter Fantich AKA Tekka is heavily involved in pushing new sounds within Brisbane’s growing dance scene, running various events to support the local talent that the town has to offer. Whether you catch Tekka playing trance / tech house sets or playing minimal / techno under his alias ‘Digital Divide’ be sure to let him take you on a passionate music journey
